The local population in the city totals more than 245,000 residents, and is expanding at a pace of nearly 2 percent annually, faster than the state average as a whole. The city is the fourth largest in Arizona by population, trailing only Phoenix, Tucson and neighboring Mesa. Of the top-5 cities in Arizona, Chandler is by far the fastest-growing city in the group. These businesses will bring hundreds of high-tech/high-wage jobs to the area.
